The Wintonbury Land Trust is a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation established to engage in and promote for the benefit of the general public the preservation, improvement, protection and conservation of natural resources principally in but not limited to the Town of Bloomfield, including streams and water sources, wetland, woodland, farmland, and other open space, including the plant and animal life thereon, and unique scenic, natural and historic sites.

The Wintonbury Land Trust was established in 1982 to preserve the natural environmental resources so important to the quality of life in Bloomfield, Connecticut. At present the Wintonbury Land Trust holds and preserves 200 acres principally in the Town of Bloomfield, as well as Windsor, West Hartford and Simsbury. Our 17 distinct properties range in size from less than 1 acre up to 46 acres. Year round ponds can be found on four of our properties and one parcel even supports an active waterfall.
